1 in 4 women miss their smear test Across the UK, one in four women do not take up their invitation to cervical cancer screening. NHS East of England estimated this meant 450,000 women across the region did not attend their last cervical cancer screening appointment.
Text-message reminders were delivered via iPLATO patient care messaging (PCM), a cloud-based communication platform specifically developed for health services.
iPLATO partnered with the NHS to send out SMS text reminders to increase uptake and completion of the population-based screening programme to test for colorectal cancer.
