iPLATO gains Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation for managing NHS patient data
iPLATO is pleased to announce that they have been awarded Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation, which is part of their overall strategy to ensure the security of records and patient data that they handle on behalf of the NHS.
Some organisations handling patient data only choose to comply with the lesser Cyber Essentials Basic, which is a self-certification exercise. This means they are only asked to supply answers to a questionnaire and the application is marked through an online portal.
iPLATO underwent Cyber Essentials PLUS assessment which involved external vulnerability scans by certification bodies and inspection by testers who visited our facilities and they performed additional proactive tests. These tests are specified by the National Cyber Security Centre who compiled the Cyber Essentials test specification.
iPLATO believes that anyone handling patient data, NHS or otherwise, should meet these enhanced standards and accreditation.Share
