iPLATO ranked in Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100
iPLATO has been ranked number 77 in The Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100. The league table ranks Britain’s top 100 private tech companies with the fastest-growing sales over the last three years. In 2018 only 5 of the 100 companies fell within the medical technology sector.
iPLATO, who developed myGP® in 2016, have experienced unrivalled success since its inception and now boasts the number 1 downloaded medical app in the country. It is available to close to 40 million patients and achieved over 80% revenue growth in the last year, securing its spot in league table.
The company has grown from 13 employees in 2015, to 65 today. The company owes its success to its robust business model and its dedication to patient centred product development. iPLATO developed myGP to simplify access to healthcare, evolving its initial offering of practice two-way SMS to enable appointment reminders and cancellations to population-wide patient engagement, intelligent care navigation and online consultation.
iPLATO holds contracts with over a quarter of all CCGs (Clinical Commissioning Groups) in England and works with all of the three main GP practice clinical systems, EMIS Health, TPP and INPS Vision, allowing its product to easily and seamlessly integrate with 97% of GP practices in the country. Most recently iPLATO has been named as one of the 12 companies to be granted the use of NHS Login for its app – again, proving its status in the arena of medical applications.
The modular architecture of the myGP platform allows iPLATO to continuously add new products and services, some of these products and services are built by iPLATO, whilst others are provided to patients through strategic partnership. Its products have proven results, with intelligent care navigation re-directing 26% of appointments booked through the app to other, more appropriate, points of care.
Talking of the success, Tobias Alpsten, CEO of iPLATO commented, ‘we are so pleased to be recognised as one of the fastest growing tech companies in the country, the work that we do for our NHS colleagues has shown real demonstrable improvements in the day-today lives of not just primary care professionals but for patients as well. There are some exciting plans in development, including a international expansion and I and the team are very excited for what’s to come’.
